DWI Suspect Not Hard to Find After Getting Away

West Deptford man allegedly left his car bumper at the scene of an accident.

didn’t have a hard time finding a West Deptford man after his car allegedly careened into Wheeler Park and he sped away shortly before midnight on Friday, May 27.  That’s because he left his bumper behind, with license plate attached.

Craig Nash, 25, of Apple Lane, was arrested later by Westville police and charged with DWI. The calling card he left behind was hard to ignore.

A neighbor on South Atlantic Avenue West reported hearing a loud bang at 11:34 p.m. He went outside and did not see Nash’s vehicle but recovered his bumper in the nearby park. Police said evidence indicated the car headed east on Gill Avenue after the crash.
