Police lose woman suspected in a burglary Tuesday after a foot chase.
A woman suspected of burglarizing a home in the 300 block of Mt. Vernon Avenue Tuesday morning escaped a foot chase with police and remained at large, a police report said.
The suspect was described as a short, white female, with short dark hair; wearing a black, DARE t-shirt and dark pants. The suspect was last seen running east on Woodland Avenue, and then through a backyard on in that block. The area was checked, but the suspect was not found, police said.
The chase forced school Superintendent Richard Perry to issue a tier 1 lock down of the nearby Elizabeth Haddon elementary school at 501 Redman Ave. and then a district-wide lock down of the other four schools in the borough. The lock down was issued at 11:40 a.m. and ended at 12:25 p.m.
