Haddonfielder on Hand for Obama's White House Harvest
Robin Shreeves snaps some pictures of Michelle Obama as she harvests fall vegetables at the White House garden.

Robin Shreeves' passion for locally sourced food got her an invitation from the White House to participate in the fall garden harvest there.
The Haddonfield woman scored a prime spot Wednesday in the White House's backyard to document the harvest through a "tweetup"—essentially, a group of Twitter users meeting in real life and documenting the event. She snapped several photos of First Lady Michelle Obama harvesting vegetables and meeting with children.
Shreeves' adventure was first covered in the Philadelphia Daily News.Â

Shreeves scored her invitation through the first lady's Let's Move campaign to end childhood obesity. As part of that push, Obama helped plant a White House garden. She often brings in schoolchildren to maintain the garden, and the vegetables from it go both to the White House kitchen and to local food pantries in Washington, D.C.
Shreeves blogs about her interest in local food at South Jersey Locavore. You can also find her on Twitter under the handle @rshreeves.
