Lautenberg Presses Clinton on Pan Am 103 Bombing
Sen. Lautenberg asked Secretary of State Clinton to help bring the Pan Am bombing perpetrators to justice.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (NJ-D) released a statement today urging Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to continue to pursue those responsible for the December 1988 Pan Am 103 bombing that killed hundreds of people over Lockerbie, Scotland, including Haddonfield native Diane Maslowski.Â
"We've had intensive discussions with our counterparts in Libya. We've made it clear to them of the great importance of this case to the United States, our determination to bring those responsible to justice," Clinton said. "The investigation remains open. We are working to obtain new information. But I want you to know because of your deep interest in this, Senator, this is always at the top of my list whenever I talk with any Libyans."Â

Lautenberg has long served as an advocate for victims of Libyan terrorism, according to a news release. He was a member of the President’s Commission to investigate the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing and played a central role in securing compensation for the family members of victims.Â
