Meteorologist Kristin Kline, with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, said the area is under a winter weather advisory beginning at 1 a.m. Saturday. Snow is expected to start falling overnight between Friday and Saturday, with accumulations between 1-3 inches.Â
The temperature will climb slightly during the day Saturday, changing the snow over to sleet and freezing rain.
"Depending on how high temperatures get, it may switch over to rain completely," Kline said.

All precipitation is expected to end before Saturday night with temperatures dropping to the mid to upper 20s—so keep an eye out for black ice.

"This (system) will give everyone a taste of it, but we're not expecting huge amounts," Kline said.
