HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Six candidates have filed to run for Hillsborough Township's Board of Education, with three spots on the governing body at stake.
Monday afternoon marked the deadline for hopefuls to file petitions for candidacy in New Jersey's school board elections, which will be held Nov. 4.
Board members Jean Trujillo, Joel Davis, and Danny Lee are all running for re-election to the board.

The candidate field includes three challengers: John Fluet, N. Jannah Hameed, and Marc Ehrenkrantz.
School board elections are nonpartisan. But candidates can choose a slogan to appear with their name on the ballot.
