Hillsborough Mayor John Ciccarelli Honored For His Service
The Township Committee presented John Ciccarelli with a ceremonial gavel for his dedicated service to Hillsborough Township.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Mayor John Ciccarelli was honored by the Township Committee for his dedicated service to Hillsborough.
At the Dec. 9 meeting, the Township Committee presented Ciccarelliwith a ceremonial gavel. Mayor Ciccarelli has served our community in several capacities, including Committeeman, Deputy Mayor, and Mayor.
"We recognize Mayor Ciccarelli for all the work he has done over the past three years and prior to that on boards and commissions. He has worked incredibly hard. The many hours late at night that we had worked trying to make sure good things happen for the town," said Committeeman Robert Britting. "John is just that guy that truly cares about his neighbors, cares about Hillsborough Township very, very much."

Ciccarelli recalled his highlights of the mayor, including serving as an officiant for those getting married, participating at the Robo Raider events, and more.
"There really is a pattern, I think, of leadership, and what I really like doing is cross-pollinating and connecting people through the town. Various interests that would not seem to be connected eventually are through something," said Ciccarelli.

"It's been a pleasure and an honor serving Iliosborough," said Ciccarelli. "I'm not moving. I'll be in town. I'll be around."
Ciccarelli was elected to the Township Committee in the 2022 election. Democrat Jill Gomez won with 10,193 votes in the recent November election over Ciccarelli with 8,378 votes.
