The presentation was for 6 groups of children ages 5-11 and was arranged by Hillsborough Parks and Recreation with the goal of teaching children how to stay safe around dogs.
Animal Control Officer Vastola discussed bite statistics, leashing, when and how to approach a dog, what body language to look for, and what to do if approached by an unknown dog. Animal Control Solutions offers this class to contracted municipalities hoping the education will help result in less dog bites to children.
