Better 'Click It' Through the Weekend...At Least

Police wrapping up two-week annual "Click it or ticket" program to increase seat belt use.

Do anything enough, and it gets to be a habit—which is what police hope drivers and passengers will develop with the annual "Click it or ticket" enforcement program.

Since May 20, Hillsborough police have been especially watchful of people who haven't gotten in the habit of using their seat belts, providing handy reminders in the form of tickets...which come with a bill attached.

Acccording to a resolution passed by the Township Committee Tuesday, the program local effort is part of a statewide project running from May 20 to June 2, with a goal of getting 90 percent of drivers and passengers to use seat belts (the Division of Highway Traffic Safety says currently only 88.29 percent of us do).
