The seniors of Hillsborough were so graciously invited to attend the dress rehearsal before opening night on Thursday evening, as the cast prepares to perform the production of Pippin. The show originated on Broadway in 1972, with a revival in 2013 with Bob Fosse. The invite included a delicious dinner of salad, meatballs and pasta, dessert, an endless flow of beverages, with spectacular young people serving, and doting over us. While dining, we were serenaded by the most talented of vocalists singing renditions of the Big Bands, as well as contemporary music. We then played Trivia, and everyone received a ticket to win a door prize. What fun! Incredible is the word that comes to mind reflecting on the work they all did! What a beautiful way to bring together our community. Their production of Pippin is a great success thanks to the amazing cast, crew, musicians, and teachers. So much awesome talent! The sets, costumes, and musical performances were so professional, it gave you the feeling of Broadway. I'm certain I speak for everyone when I say, it was spectacular in every way! Thank you so very much for a wonderful evening. We look forward to next year's event. As they say in theatre circles...'Break a leg!'
