'Good Quality American Pizza': David Portnoy Reviews Somerset County Pizzeria
Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and known for his "one-bite reviews," stopped by Manville Pizza and Restaurant.
MANVILLE, NJ — A family-owned pizzeria in Manville is the latest New Jersey spot to get a visit from Dave Portnoy, the Barstool Sports founder who runs a popular pizza review series online.
Portnoy stopped by Manville Pizza and Restaurant (31 S Main St. in Manville), which has been owned by the family since 1969, for the latest "One Bite" review.
The Massachusetts native typically orders a thin-style cheese pizza at every place he reviews, and rates each pie out of 10 based on taste and style.

"Good sauce, good tang," said Portnoy who rated the pizza a 7.5 out of 10. "Good quality American pizza."
The owner of Manville Pizza said it was a "wonderful review! Thanks again for coming David Portnoy - El Presidente, a day we will not soon forget here at Manville Pizza."

"Although this may not be his preferred style, he recognized the wonderful taste and quality of the product," wrote Manville Pizza and Restaurant est. 1969. "I am very proud and couldn’t have said it better. 'Good Quality American Pizza'."

Other Somerset County Stops
This isn't the first time Portnoy has stopped in Somerset County. He has reviewed Chimney Rock Inn at 800 North Thompson Ave. in Bridgewater, which he gave a 7.6 rating.
He also stopped at Prima Pizza Kitchen at 131 N Gaston Ave. in Somerville rating them a 7.7 and Stan's Chitch's Pizza Restaurant and Bar at 14 Columbus Pl. in Bound Brook, rating them a 7.1. Read More: David Portnoy Visits, Reviews 2 Somerset County Pizzerias
However, Portnoy's most memorable review still remains DeLucia's Brick Oven Pizza at 3 1st Ave. in Raritan, which he gave a nearly perfect review of 9.4.
