Flooding Closes Griggstown Causeway, More Rain In Forecast
Drivers should seek an alternate route. Heavy rain, possible thunderstorms, are expected through Friday.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Flooding conditions have closed the Griggstown Causeway in Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon.
As of 2 p.m. on April 6, the Millstone River is currently at 8.84 feet high at Griggstown which is approaching the 9.5-foot stage to take action. Minor flooding will begin when the river hits 10 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
With more heavy rain in the forecast expected this week, the river could flood. The Millstone River at Blackwells Mills is at 4.87 feet as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday and is projected to rise to 8.3 feet by 8 a.m. on Friday. This is very close to the minor flooding stage at 9 feet for that area.

More rain is expected overnight on Wednesday and then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 a.m. High near 53. East wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m, then showers likely between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Low around 45. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday: A slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Friday Night: A chance of showers, mainly between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
