Hillsborough Democrats Gather for First Democratic Presidential Debate. Oct. 13

The Hillsborough Democratic Organization invites all local Democrats to come out to a Watch Party for the first 2016 Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate on Tuesday night, October 13th, 2015 beginning at 7:30 PM at Pizza ‘n Pasta, 930 South Main Street, Manville (just north of the Central NJ Airport).

“Democrats will learn about the announced candidates while having a good time with good friends and good food,” stated John Beggiato, Chairman of the Hillsborough Democratic Organization. “It’s never too soon to get ready for a Presidential election! Hopefully this debate event will get Democrats and unaffiliated people energized about participating actively in next year’s campaign.”

Democrats currently have six declared candidates for President: Lincoln Chafee, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Lawrence Lessig, Martin O’Malley, Bernie Sanders, and Jim Webb. Anderson Cooper of CNN will be moderating the debate.

“This debate will be voters’ first opportunity to see these candidates side by side discussing issues of importance to our country,” stated Anne Iannone, Vice-Chair of the Hillsborough Democratic Organization. “It will be more enjoyable watching and discussing this debate with local Democratic friends and activists in a fun setting. “

Different kinds of pizza made in a wood-burning oven as well as soda will be served in a private room with a large-screen television. Fifteen dollars per person will cover the expenses for pizza and soft drink. A cash bar will also be available.
