Hillsborough Fire Chief Dies In Line Of Duty
Thomas Marvits was suffering from complications of COVID-19 when he died on Sunday, said Hillsborough Fire District.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Fire Chief Thomas Marvits has died in the line of duty after suffering from complications of COVID-19, said the township fire district.
Marvits, who died on Sunday, was an active member of Hillsborough Fire Company #3 (Station 38) and served the township for more than 11 years.
He is survived by his wife Colleen and their two children. According to his obituary, he just turned 54 years old on Dec. 10, 2022.

"The Hillsborough Board of Fire Commissioners wish to convey their sincere condolences to his family and Hillsborough Fire Company #3 and thank him for his service. May he rest in peace," according to Hillsborough Township Fire District.
Visitation will be held at Hillsborough Funeral Home at 796 Route 206 in Hillsborough on Friday, Jan. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 381 South Branch Road in Hillsborough on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m.
