Assemblyman Roy Freiman (LD 16), speaking on behalf of himself and Assemblywoman Mitchell Drulis noted the challenges presented by S2, the school funding formula.

"This funding formula has proven unpredictable and based on outdated assumptions," said Freiman. "Education has always been our priority, and we will work tirelessly to find a solution that will set up students and teachers for success now and in the future."

The HEA’s participation in the NEA Walk-In reflects its ongoing commitment to advocating for policies that support educators and enhance the educational landscape. By participating in events like the Walk-In, the HEA aims to bring attention to the critical issues facing public education, like the pressing need to reform the school funding formula.

"We took part in the National Walk-In to make it clear that our schools need adequate funding to provide the best possible education for our students," said Henry Goodhue, The President of the Hillsborough Education Association. "We will continue to work tirelessly with all stakeholders to ensure that every child in Hillsborough and all of New Jersey has the opportunity to succeed."
