HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township is kicking off preparations for a once-in-a-lifetime milestone: the Semiquincentennial, or America's 250th anniversary, in 2026.
The Township is actively seeking creative input from its residents and local business owners to develop engaging and memorable events and activities to commemorate this historic occasion.
Using their dedicated online platform, "Engage Hillsborough," Hillsborough is inviting the entire community to share their vision, ideas, and feedback. This is a unique opportunity for every voice to be heard in the planning process for this nationwide celebration.

"Hillsborough's Semiquincentennial planning committee has many ideas for bringing the community together to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary," said Mayor John Ciccarelli. "But we recognize that our residents and business owners are the heart of our community, and we know they also have great ideas. We encourage everyone to log on and share their thoughts so we can plan an unforgettable series of events."
The brief survey will also help the planning committee gauge public interest in various types of events, ensuring that resources are focused on the initiatives that appeal to the most people.
