Snow, Icy Roads Expected In Hillsborough: See Latest Predictions

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The morning commute may be a messy one for Hillsborough residents as forecasters are predicting some snow and ice.

Up to 2 inches of snow, with local amounts of up to 3 inches is possible in Hillsborough, the National Weather Service reported.

"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute," said the NWS, who also issued a winter weather advisory through 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Hillsborough will primarily see rain on Wednesday night before shifting to snow on early Thursday morning. Snow is expected to fall anytime between 4 and 11 a.m.

Temperatures are then expected to drop to near freezing by daybreak Thursday causing the potential for icy roadways.

Here's a look at the Hillsborough forecast as of 5 p.m. Wednesday:

Wednesday Night: Rain before 4 a.m., then rain and snow. Low around 32. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Snow, mainly before 11 a.m. High near 35. North wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 11. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 25. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: A chance of snow after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 10. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow before 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 13.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.
