Somerset County Jail Inmate Charged For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting Another Inmate

A 39-year-old inmate at Somerset County Jail has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting another inmate within the prison.

It was reported that an adult male recently incarcerated at the jail had been sexually assaulted by Thomas Bizarro, of Somerville, on July 14. He has since been charged with Sexual Assault, 2nd Degree.

When the incident was reported on July 15, an investigation was conducted by detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

“As soon as we were notified of the incident, we advised the County Prosecutor’s Office of same. The investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office detectives was equally as swift, Somerset County Sheriff Frank J. Provenzano said. We will continue to vigorously detect and prosecute any criminal behavior occurring in the county jail.”

Bizarro, who is currently lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending trial on other charges, had an additional bail set at $150,000.00 - cash only.
