Weather Forecast: National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook

With rain expected this weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region, claiming localized flooding is a possibility.

Saturday is expected to have a high temperature of 53 degrees and a 100 percent chance of rainfall, mainly before 5 p.m. Rainfall totals should be between half and three-quarters of an inch.

“Rainfall combined with snow melt will result in minor to possibly moderate rises in area rivers and streams this weekend into early next week,” according to the National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook. ”The larger rivers and streams across the area are expected to remain below bankfull, but the increase flow will cause ice to break up and move during this time. • Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Breezy, with a northwest wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
• Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph.
