Aggressive Fox Attacked Dog In Hopatcong

Police say the fox tried to fight two other dogs later in the day.

HOPATCONG, NJ — Hopatcong police are warning pet owners to keep an eye out for an aggressive fox in the borough after it attacked one dog and tried to attack two more.

Police say the fox attacked the dogs on Tuesday. It was first spotted near Evergreen Ave and Mohawk Ave when it got into a fight with a dog on a lead in a yard. It was spotted again later that day when the fox tried to circle a dog that was being walked. That dog's owner tried to kick the fox away. A third dog was almost attacked while being walked in that same area; its owner also kicked the fox away.

Anyone who sees a fox in the following areas should leave as quickly as possible: Huron Tr, Evergreen Ave, Oneida Ave, Mohawk Ave, 500 Block of Maxim/River Styx.
