Pedestrian Seriously Hurt After Being Hit On Sussex Co. Highway: NJSP

Officials said the man "stumbled into the roadway" Thursday morning on Route 206, and was hit by a passing driver.

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — State police said a pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a driver Thursday morning, along Route 206 in Sussex County.

Officials said the man "stumbled into the roadway" near the area of mile marker 110.5, in Hampton Township, around 10:30 a.m. He was hit by a northbound Chevrolet SUV and sustained serious injuries, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron of New Jersey State Police.

First responders transported the 38-year-old to an area hospital, police said. His identity has not been released.

There were no other injuries reported, officials said.

The crash is still under investigation, and there was no additional information released as of Thursday afternoon.
