Students Revel in Beauty at Hudson Maxim School

Hudson Maxim School gets some sprucing up as part of the school's fall beautification project.

It was an exciting time for students at Hudson Maxim School in Hopatcong who participated last week in the school's annual fall beautification project.

As a part of the yearly observance, every student got to plant either a spring bulb or a mum plant. Superintendent of Schools Cynthia Randina said the project allows each child to feel a sense of ownership and pride in the school and also provides a wonderful hands-on learning experience.

Randina said parents and community volunteers are actively involved in the beautification activities, which take place every spring and fall as part of a
Pride grant sponsored by Hopatcong Education Association in conjunction with the New Jersey Education Association, the teachers' union. The grant was written by first grade teacher Judy Grogan, according to a district statement.
