SUSSEX, NJ - A longtime Sussex Fire Department member died suddenly this week just hours after he responded to back-to-back fire calls, fire officials said.
Tony Duivenvoorde, a “life member” of the fire department, passed away in his home after responding to the fire calls on Wednesday, the department said.
In a Facebook post, the Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company noted that Duivenvoorde responded to back-to-back calls for a fire alarm “and then a car into a commercial structure which caught fire.”
