Widow Admits Using Prostitution Earnings to Buy North Jersey House

Khemwika Ernst worked as a prostitute in Hawaii and did not disclose her earning for six years, report says.

A woman living in Hawaii admitted in federal court this week that she worked as a prostitute for six years and used the money she earned, in part, to buy a home in northern New Jersey.

According to kitv.com, Khemwika Ernst pleaded guilty in Honolulu to a conspiracy charge and filing false tax returns after earning more than $525,000 for her work as a prostitute between 2008 and 2014.

The home she and her late husband, Michael Ernst, bought in 2012 sits on three acres in Fredon, according to nj.com.

Both reports said Michael Ernst shot and killed himself about a month after the duo was indicted in March.

The woman would take large sums of money and deposit it into a joint checking account, but then began sending the funds via FedEx, nj.com reported. An intercepted package lead to the finding of more than $7,000 in cash, the report said.
