14-Year-Old Charged With Murder In Jersey City Teen's Death: Prosecutor
A Jersey City teen has been charged with murder in the death of Kashyne Grant, 19, earlier this month, prosecutors said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City teen has been charged with murder in the death of a 19-year-old Jersey City man earlier this month, prosecutors said.
The accused teen was 14 at the time of the Oct. 11 killing, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
He was arrested Monday on Bergen Avenue in Jersey City, prosecutors said.

Police responded shortly before 5 p.m. on that Friday to a report of shots fired near Garfield Avenue and Brown Place, prosecutors have said.
Kashyne Grant, 19, of Jersey City was found with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14.

The accused teen has been charged as a juvenile with murder, as well as unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said that juvenile matters are confidential and no additional information can be released at this time.
