2 Rescued From Hudson River By Jersey City Firefighters, Officials Say
Two people were rescued from the Hudson River this week in separate incidents, officials said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two people were rescued from the Hudson River this week in separate incidents, Jersey City officials said.
On Monday afternoon, said Fire Chief John Johnson, emergency workers were called to the area of the Statue of Liberty on a report of a person on a sinking jet ski.
First responders were able to bring the person ashore, Johnson confirmed.

Then, on Tuesday, after 6:30 a.m., a person in crisis was seen treading water in the Exchange Place area, just off Owen Grundy Pier, said Public Safety Spokeswoman Kim Wallace-Scalcione.
The Fire Department was able to get a life preserver to the person, and then extended a ladder, Wallace-Scalcione said.

The person climbed out of the water, she said, and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
