JERSEY CITY, NJ — A teenage girl and 19-year-old man were shot in Jersey City early Monday morning, officials said.

A 16-year-old girl suffered a non-life-threatening wound to her foot. A 19-year-old man was struck in the abdomen, she said.

Both are in stable condition, Wallace-Scalcione said Monday night.

Police are investigating, she said.

The area is on the western edge of the city, near the Hackensack River.

Four days earlier, police were involved in a shootout on the western edge of the city. After a man shot at two police cars on J.F. Kennedy Blvd., he was killed, state officials said Friday. READ MORE: Man Dies In Shootout With Police In Jersey City
