3 Jersey City Police Officers Injured After Altercation
The officers were injured after struggling with a man and a weapon was discharged, officials said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Three Jersey City police officers were injured during an altercation with a man Thursday morning, a city spokesperson said.
Jamel Bolden, 32, was arrested after police responded to a WHATSapp alert report of possible drug activity; two of the officers were on a nearby anti-violence walking detail, said Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, a city spokesperson said.
Bolden produced a weapon that was discharged at the corner of Rutgers and McAdoo avenues, Wallace-Scalcione said. Three police officers received minor injuries during a brief struggle with Bolden, she said.

Bolden was immediately arrested and is expected to be charged with resisting arrest, among other charges, Wallace-Scalcione said.
