JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Liberty Humane Society is helping a new pup get comfortable and aptly named him McSteamy, for his soulful, and quite frankly, steamy eyes.

McSteamy may be all smiles in his profile photos on Liberty Humane Society's website, but his story isn't quite as joyous. He was brought to the shelter after good Samaritans found him abandoned, tied to a bike rack.

Next to him at the bike rack, were his toys, a bed, medication and other supplies, shelter officials said, so it's possible he came from a home that couldn't care for him. Officials said he is generally in good health, and most of the circumstances around his abandonment are a mystery.

For now, McSteamy is happy to be in the care of the humane society and eager to find his forever home. He is a young Pit Bull terrier mix with a friendly and playful demeanor. To learn more about McSteamy and how to adopt, visit Liberty Humane Society's website.
