Fatal Crash On Route 7 In Hudson County Under Investigation: Officials

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — County and local investigators are probing a fatal motor vehicle crash on Route 7 in Kearny on Wednesday, they said.

Kearny police said the crash occurred Wednesday afternoon on a section of the highway between Kearny Avenue and Pleasant Place.

Officials did not release more specific information.

"The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Kearny Police Department are investigating a fatal crash on Route 7 near Pleasant Place," said the County Prosecutor's Office, in a statement.

They did not immediately respond when asked for more information Thursday.

Traffic on Route 7 was detoured that afternoon, but roads have reopened.

"We appreciate your cooperation as we conduct this investigation," said the Kearny police.
