• Solomon celebrates revised Turnpike expansion for Jersey City, but still wants more (hudsoncountyview.com) — Major changes to the Turnpike expansion will keep the highway at two lanes through Jersey City, avoiding the wider six-lane plan that worried many neighborhoods. Mayor‑elect James Solomon welcomes the scaled‑back design but argues billions should instead prioritize mass transit and safer local streets for Jersey City families. The project still includes major bridge work and port connections affecting local traffic and trucking.
   

• Teen Father Killed In Jersey City Was 'Best Person,' Says Fundraiser (patch.com) — A 16-year-old Pennsylvania teen was found fatally shot inside a Jersey City apartment on Rose Avenue, and a 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the killing. Jersey City police and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office are handling the case, while a fundraiser is helping the victim’s family cover burial costs and remembers him as a devoted young father and brother.
   

• Death of ICE Detainee ‘Deeply Disturbing' Rep. Robert Menendez Says (tapinto.net) — Jersey City–based Rep. Rob Menendez is condemning the recent death of an ICE detainee at Newark’s Delaney Hall facility, calling conditions and oversight there “deeply disturbing.” He criticizes the Trump administration’s handling of detention centers and cites reported delays in getting the man to a hospital, vowing to push for the closure of Delaney Hall and similar private facilities.
