Fleet Week's Coming To The Jersey City Side This Weekend: Demonstrations And More

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Staying in town for Memorial Day weekend? You can celebrate Fleet Week at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.

Fleet Week is an annual celebration of the seafaring military services that arrives in New York City each May, with some activities on the other side of the Hudson River.

As the New York City Department of Veterans' Services notes, "Fleet Week New York is a citywide salute to the sea services — honoring the Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who safeguard our nation at home and abroad. For our agency, it is an opportunity to welcome service members to our city, connect them with the New York City Veteran community, and highlight their strength andresilience, while witnessing firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services."

Food, Music, And Wheels

At Liberty State Park, there will be demonstrations, military vehicles to explore, and pilots and crew to meet.

Food trucks will be on site.

The events take place on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., Liberty State Park, 1 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City.
