New assistant Rasheen Davis has previously been on the coaching staff at Arizona State, UMass, VCU, Xavier and Louisville.

JERSEY CITY, NJ —Saint Peter's University men's basketball coach Shaheen Holloway announced Thursday that he has added five new members to the Peacocks' basketball coaching staff, including assistant coaches Rasheen Davis and Umar Shannon.
Davis and Shannon join Ryan Whalen - who has been with the program since 2018 - as assistants on Holloway's staff. Also joining the program are: Kevin Coyle, video coordinator/director of player personnel, Daniel McGinley, video coordinator/assistant director of basketball operations and Morgan Williams, director of player development and recruiting coordinator.
Last season, which was Holloway's third at the helm in Jersey City, the Peacocks went 14-11 overall, 10-8 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

Davis brings a wealth of college coaching experience to the Saint Peter's staff. Most recently, he was on Bobby Hurley's staff at Arizona State during the 2019-20 season. The Sun Devils had been in line for an NCAA Tournament berth that year before the tournament was canceled due to the pandemic.
Prior to heading out west, Davis was at UMass (2017-2019) and Virginia Commonwealth (2015-17). The VCU Rams went to two NCAA Tournaments with Davis on the staff.

Davis also has been an associate head coach at Peacocks' MAAC rival Manhattan College (2012-15), helping to lead the Jaspers to two NCAA Tournaments. He also was on the staff at Xavier, as the Musketeers went to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments in 2011 and 2012, and Louisville (2007-08), and he served as the video coordinator at Pitt.
Davis brings New York City connections stemming from his time coaching at Rice High School in Manhattan and with the New York Gauchos AAU program.
Shannon, meanwhile, comes to Jersey City from his alma mater, Saint Francis (PA), where he was on the Red Flash basketball coaching staff for five years.
He played three seasons for St. Francis from 2009-13, earning All-NEC Second Team honors his sophomore year. He finished his college career at Quinnipiac. Shannon also played professionally in Kosovo.
Coyle, video coordinator/director of player personnel, comes to Saint Peter's from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, where he served as an assistant coach for the Bloodhounds during the 2019-20 campaign.
McGinley, the video coordinator/assistant director of basketball operations, is from Chatham, and graduated from University of South Carolina in 2017. Since then, he has interned for Columbia University and head coach Jim Engles' staff, assisted NBA/WNBA trainer DJ Sackmann with training and player development and worked Bob Hurley Sr's Hoop Group camp.
Williams, the director of player development/recruiting coordinator, most recently spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Mount Aloysius College, in Cresson, Pennsylvania.
