Jersey City Medical Center Has New Executive With Nursing Degree
Jersey City Medical Center has a new executive with a nursing degree and years of management experience, the hospital announced.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City Medical Center, a 348-bed RWJBarnabas Health hospital on Grand Street, recently welcomed Joseph P. Anton as the new Chief Operating Officer, they said.
Anton will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital, ensuring that it "continues to uphold the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency, the hospital said.
A Registered Nurse, Anton began his career at the bedside working in critical care, emergency, and trauma before ascending to leadership roles, a spokesperson noted.

Working with Medical Center President and CEO Michael Prilutsky, Anton will "drive forward clinical operations, support services, and key service lines such as oncology, neurosciences, and cardiovascular to continuously enhance services and deliver world-class healthcare," the hospital said in a release.
"We are excited to welcome Joe into this pivotal role," said Prilutsky. "His leadership and vision will be instrumental in advancing our mission to provide exceptional care throughout Hudson County, and I am confident that Joe’s expertise and dedication will be invaluable as we continue to achieve new heights in healthcare excellence."

Anton previously served at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia as senior vice president of operations.
He earned an undergraduate degree from Villanova University and a graduate degree from Drexel University.
Jersey City Medical Center is a full-service acute-care teaching hospital. A not-for-profit hospital, the Medical Center is a state-designated Level II Regional Trauma Center with over 120,000 admissions and 100,000 Emergency Department visits annually.
The hospital specialty services include women’s health, orthopedics, heart and vascular care, and behavioral health. JCMC is the only full-service heart hospital in Hudson County.
RWJBarnabas Health and Jersey City Medical Center offer advanced oncology services in Hudson County in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Jersey City Medical Center is also an American Heart Association Gold Plus and DNV certified thrombectomy-capable Primary Stroke Center.
It's also a regional comprehensive cardiac center, a perinatal intensive care center, a regional level 3 neonatal intensive care unit for critically ill newborns, and home to an advanced robotic-assisted surgical program.
JCMC runs 911 Medical Call Screening for Hudson County and operates one of the state’s busiest EMS systems, the hospital said.
