Jersey City Police Department Earns $12K Drive Sober Grant

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City is one of three municipalities in Hudson County to receive the state's Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday crackdown grants.
The state awarded the Jersey City Police Department $12,000 to institute a crackdown on holiday driving while intoxicated. In North Jersey, impaired driving enforcement grant funding is distributed through the Year-End and August /September “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdowns.
The proportion of alcohol-related fatalities in New Jersey is 20.7 percent.
