Jersey City Supermarket To Be Replaced By Restaurant With Variety Of Cuisines
A new restaurant will take the place of a large grocery store in Jersey City.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Your partner wants Mexican food, you want pizza, and your child wants sushi. Now you can order them all in one place.
The expanding Wonder chain of restaurant kitchens — which started as food trucks in North Jersey during the pandemic before the company opened brick-and-mortar locations—plans to launch its newest spot in downtown Jersey City.
The Historic Downtown Jersey City Special Improvement District posted last week, simply, "Wonder is coming soon to Grove Street."

A photo showed the lettering replacing the old storefront of La Conga Supermarket.

A real estate firm noted that the 4,608 square foot location, walkable to the Grove Street PATH train,has a rear alleyway.

Wonder already has a location in Hoboken, three blocks from the Hoboken train station, as well as others in New Jersey and New York City.
Each location usually has more than a dozen restaurants offering various cuisines that can be ordered for delivery or takeout, or eaten at the small location. Items range from Indian food to salads to sushi.
Wonder has created some of its own brands to serve food, in addition to the franchises they work with.
