Jersey City's Elise Nussbaum Wins Big On 'Jeopardy!'

Nussbaum defeated Sathvik Namburar to earn the title of 'Jeopardy!' champion.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City woman is the new "Jeopardy!" champion.

Elise Nussbaum won $34,600 on the show's Wednesday episode. She defeated Dave Blum and returning one-day champion, Sathvik Namburar.

Nussbaum is an alumnus of Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School, the Jersey City Public School District said.

Nussbaum, a financial planner, will appear on the show's Thursday episode. She will be challenged by Ryan Carmichael, a filmmaker from New York, and Darrin Hall, a director of client engagement, from Florida.

"Jeopardy!" airs locally on WABC 7 at 7 p.m.
