HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A man who was injured in a fire in Jersey City on Wednesday has died, prosecutors said.

Pablo Renta, 56, of Jersey City, was found injured by firefighters who were called to a blaze at 121 Garfield Ave. shortly after 10 a.m., said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Renta was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead just before 7 p.m., prosecutors said.

The fire was found in a third-floor bedroom of a three-story residential building, prosecutors said.

While the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Jersey City Fire Department are still investigating, prosecutors said on Thursday thta "Foul play is not suspected at this time."
