Officials, residents, and unions are pressing owner Hudson Regional Health to negotiate a plan that maintains real hospital care in the Heights as the facility winds down most operations.

Prosecutor: NJ Transit bus strikes and kills pedestrian, 66, in North Bergen (hudsoncountyview.com) — A 66-year-old Hackensack man died after being struck by an NJ Transit bus running the 84 line from Jersey City to North Bergen, with the collision occurring early Tuesday in North Bergen. Hudson County investigators are now handling the case, and the bus remained at the scene as authorities continue to review what happened.
