Peach Pie Festival And Contest In Jersey City Heights Postponed, Still Taking Submissions

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The weekly farmer's market in Jersey City Heights — in Riverview-Fisk Park, just up the hill from Hoboken — is going to feature a Peach Pie Festival next Sunday, Aug. 3. The festival was pushed back from July 27 due to rain in the forecast, although forecasters now say the highest chance of rain is after 2 p.m.

Market Still On

The weekly farmer's market is on as usual from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Sunday.

The 12th Annual Peach Pie Festival And Contest will be held during the market next week.

The organizers were still registering pie bakers late this week. They must drop off their pies between 10 a.m. and 11:30, and judging starts at noon. See the link below to enter.

Free samples will be available to the public between 12:30 and 1:30.

"Amateur bakers! Start your ovens!" organizers wrote this week. "We’re hosting our 12th annual peach pie contest this coming Sunday! Register to enter your best Jersey peach pie via the link in our bio for a chance to win bragging rights and a whole lot of prizes from local businesses!"

The weekly farmer's market often hosts live music, produce, desserts, and other culinary creations.

It's located in the park overlooking Hoboken, at 498 Palisade Ave. It's a half-mile walk from the 9th Street Light Rail Elevator. Directions are here.
