Peach Pie Contest, Festival In Jersey City Scheduled For Weekend, Accepting Entries

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The weekly farmer's market in Jersey City Heights — in Riverview-Fisk Park, just up the hill from Hoboken — will host its postponed Peach Pie Festival and pie contest this Sunday.

The festival was pushed back from July 27 due to rain in the forecast.

"We take submissions online until Friday this week (8/1)," said an organizer, "and people can still register by bringing their pie day of."

The 12th Annual Peach Pie Festival And Contest will be held during the market, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pies should be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 11:30, and judging starts at noon.

Free samples will be available to the public between 12:30 and 1:30.

"Amateur bakers! Start your ovens!" organizers wrote. "Register to enter your best Jersey peach pie via the link in our bio for a chance to win bragging rights and a whole lot of prizes from local businesses!"

The weekly farmer's market often hosts live music, produce, desserts, and other culinary creations.
