St. Peter's Basketball Team Will Get A Jersey City Police Escort To Philadelphia Friday
St. Peter's University in Jersey City takes on #3 seeded Purdue on Friday night in the NCAA championships.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Now that the St. Peter's University men's basketball team continued to stun basketball fans with their win over #7 Murray State University Saturday night, the local folk heroes will get a police escort to round 3 in the NCAA college basketball championships.
The sendoff will take place at 6 p.m. on campus.
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop posted on Facebook Sunday:

"We’ll ... give them the proper JCPD escort down to Philly later in the week so NJ can salute them on the move," Fulop wrote.
The team will dance into the "Sweet 16" on Friday at 7:09 p.m., taking on the #3 ranked Purdue Boilermakers.
