Woman Purposely Hit Man With SUV On Hudson County Highway After Fight: Prosecutors
A woman who works as a Jersey City police dispatcher struck a man with an SUV in Bayonne Sunday after a fight, then left, prosecutors said.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Jersey City woman was arrested Thursday in connection with a hit-and-run in Bayonne on Sunday that left a man with life-threatening injuries, prosecutors said.
Kalimah Toon, 37, has been charged with aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury, and several other offenses, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said that Toon — who happens to work as a public safety dispatcher in Jersey City — was involved in an "altercation on the shoulder of Route 440," shortly after midnight on Sunday. Toon then entered a Ford Escape and intentionally struck the man with the vehicle, prosecutors said.

Toon and the victim "were known to each other," prosecutors said.
The man, 34, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and remains in critical condition, prosecutors said Thursday afternoon.

Toon was arrested at the Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await her first court appearance.
Besides the aggravated assault charges, she was charged with possession of a weapon (motor vehicle) for an unlawful purpose, endangering an injured victim, and hindering.
