2 Charged in Narcotic Investigation

Two Forked River residents were charged with distributing heroin within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School

Two Forked River residents were arrested after police completed a narcotic investigation.

Leonard Dasaro, 56, and Linda Carroll, 53, were arrested after detectives witnessed several suspicious transactions, one of which was within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School, police said.

Detectives approached Dasaro and Carroll at a Lacey Road convenience store where 60 folds of heroin were located. A portion of the heroin was found inside a vehicle while one of the suspects attempted to discard the remainder of the drugs inside the store.

Dasaro and Carroll, both of Bobwhite Court, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, and distribution in a school zone. Dasaro was also issued traffic summonses for possessing a controlled substance in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended.

They were sent to Ocean County Jail with bail set at $100,000 each.
