Aug. 10: Lifeguard Competition, Outdoor Concert, Coffeehouse

1. The 29^th Annual Long Beach Township Beach Patrol Mayor’s Cup, a lifeguard competition, takes place at Brant Beach at 6 p.m.

2. Sweeter Than Honey will be playing in an outdoor concert at Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen’s Museum at 6:30 p.m.

3. The Lacey United Methodist Church is holding “The Blend,” a Friday night coffeehouse at 7 p.m. The event will feature live entertainment. Admission is free. Coffee, tea, soda and cake are available for $1. All proceeds benefit the church’s charitable missions including the weekly soup kitchen.

4. The Dolphin Tale will be showing on the beach at Boardwalk and Parkway in Point Pleasant Beach at dark.

5. The Surflight Theatre presents The Sound of Music at 8 p.m. Admission is $36.
