Dozer Needs A Home For Christmas
Dozer's owner became ill and could no longer care for this beautiful German shepherd

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Can someone out there give a healthy 9-year-old German shepherd a home for the holidays?
Dozer is not used to being in a shelter. He lived all his life in a good home, but his owner because ill and could not care for him any longer.
"Please don't be deterred by Dozer's age," the post on the Associated Humane Societies Popcorn Park Facebook page says. "We would never believe he was 9 if his owner didn't tell us. He is spry, spunky, healthy, and does not have any of the hip/leg problems that some older German shepherds become afflicted with. He has plenty of energy and is such an all-around nice guy.

Dozer can be a little shy when he first meets someone new. But that only lasts a few minutes. Then he will stay by your side and be your best friend. He is smart and well-mannered, but needs a little training with leash walking, according to the post.

He gets along fine with dogs and cats, but needs a home with no young children since he has never been around kids before.
Come and see this beautiful boy. His file number is 27768. If you are interested in adopted, go to the shelter's Facebook page, click on "general information" in the "about" section for adoption information.
