Forked River Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Accident
Clifton Loeser, 56, fled the scene after the hit and run accident, police chief says.

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police have charged a Forked River man with drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident near the Walmart parking lot recently, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Officers Daniel Ricciardella and Michael Hein responded to Walmart on Route 9 North at 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 10 on a report of a hit and run accident. Clifton Loeser, 56, Binnacle Road, was traveling west in a Ford F-150 pickup on Haines Street when he made a right turn into Walmart and struck the rear of a Jeep Patriot that was waiting to exit the parking lot, the chief said.
Loeser did not stop and fled the scene. Walmart employees helped to find the pickup truck, which was found in the parking lot short time later, DiBella said.

Investigation at the scene led to the Loeser's arrest. He was taken to police headquarters and later released, after he wa also charged with reckless driving and failure to report an accident, the chief said.
The pickup truck was impounded pursuant to John's Law.
