July 17: Sidewalk Chalk, Oyster Creek Public Hearing, Summer Carnival

Events in and around Lacey Township

1. The OCVTS Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) will host the Marine Science Summer Experience held at the MATES facility in Manahawkin from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Go to www.ocvts.org for more details and registration.

2. Children of all ages can stop by the from 2 to 3 p.m. to decorate its sidewalks with chalk.

3. A will be held at 6 p.m. in Room 119 in the Ocean County Administration Building at 101 Hooper Avenue, Toms River.

4. From 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. St. Mary’s Parish Center in Manahawkin will be holding Nights of Summer Carnival. The night will feature rides, attractions, entertainment, raffles and food.

5. Meet author Julia Spencer and her Seeing Eye Dog, Irene during “Looking Through the Key Hole” at the library at 7 p.m. Spencer will discuss her fears, hopes and response to her vision loss as well as explain how she prevails over adversities.
