Events in and around Lacey Township

1. Residents can still drop new children’s books off at on Route 9 as part of the United Through Reading’s Military Program. Deployed service men and women read a book while being recorded on DVD. The DVD and book are then sent to the child.
2. The OCVTS Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES) will host the Marine Science Summer Experience held at the MATES facility in Manahawkin from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Go to www.ocvts.org for more details and registration.
3. There’s a tennis camp at for children ages seven to 15 at 7:30 a.m. The camp runs from Monday, July 23 to Thursday, July 26; Monday, July 30 to Thursday, Aug. 2; Monday, Aug. 6 to Thursday, Aug. 9. Cost is $55 per week. Each child gets a camp t-shirt. To sign up your child, call 609-693-5451.

4. Billy Bones is bringing his variety show to the at 10 a.m. Children ages five and up can learn how to stand, talk, laugh, eat and sing like a pirate.
5. The Ocean Professional Theatre Company presents 101 Dalmatians at 6 p.m. at 180 Bengal Boulevard in Barnegat. Admission is $10.
