Lacey Police Investigating Counterfeit Bills Used At Wawa Store On Lacey Road

Incident was caught on surveillance video, police chief says.

LACEY TOWNSHIP - Lacey police are examining surveillance video of suspects who used counterfeit bills to purchase gift cards recently, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Scott Keefe responded to the store at 8:12 p.m. on Oct. 14 on a report of counterfeit bills that were used to buy gift cards, the chief said.

A Wawa employee told police that $200 in fake bills were used to buy two separate $100 gift cards. Counterfeit bills were mixed in with real bills to make the purchase, DiBella said.
